Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream


1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup half and half
1/2 tsp peppermint extract
1 1/2 cups whipping cream
1/2 cup grated semisweet or chocolate chips
1/8 tsp green food coloring

Scald milk until bubbles form around edges of pan.
Remove from heat.
Add sugar and salt.
Stir until dissolved.
Sitr in half and half, peppermint, whipping cream, and green food coloring.
Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes.
Pour into canister and freeze as directed.
After removing dasher, immediately stir in chocolate.
