Mini Kisses Cookie Bars


1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 1/2 cups flour
1 3/4 cup (10 ounce package) Hershey’s mini kisses chocolate, divided

Heat oven to 375 degrees.
Beat butter and shortening in large bowl on medium speed of mixer just until blended.
Add brown sugar and sugar; beat well.
Beat in eggs, vanilla and baking soda.
Gradually beat in flour (if dough becomes too stiff, stir in remaining flour with spoon).
Set aside 1/2 cup mini kisses; stir in remaining mini kisses.
Press dough into ungreased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 “ jelly roll pan.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until top is golden.
Remove from oven; immediately place reserved mini kisses on top, pressing down lightly.
Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
Cut into bars.
