2 oz semisweet chocolate 1-1/2 cups flour 1 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 cup butter, softened 1 cup sugar 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla colored sprinkles Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Heat chocolate in microwave for 2-3 minutes on medium power. When almost melted, remove from heat and stir and set aside to cool. In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar with a mixer until fluffy. Beat eggs and vanilla into butter mixture. Add melted chocolate and stir until well blended. Add flour mixture to butter mixture a little at a time and mix well. Wrap dough in plastic and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Roll dough to 1/8" thickness and cut out cookies with tree shaped cookie cutter. Place cookie on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 7-10 minutes or until light brown. Decorate. Using frosting, pipe on white trim. Make small dots of white icing to "glue" sprinkles onto the cookies. * about 3 dozen (http://www.northpole.com/Kitchen/Cookbook/rec0377.html)Updated on Sat Aug 18 09:04:04 2001 Copyright 2001, Daniel J.
