Peach Oatmeal Bars


3/4 cup butter or margarine
1 1/4 cup rolled oats
1 1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup peach preserves (or other fruit)
3/4 cup flaked coconut

In 13x9x2" baking pan, melt butter while preheating oven to 350 degrees;  cool.
Stir in oats, flour, sugar, baking powder and cinnamon until blended.
Mixture will be crumbly.
Reserve 1/2 cup crumb mixture;  firmly press remaining mixture into bottom of pan.
Spread preserves to within 1/2 inch of edges.
Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture and the coconut.
Bake on center rack 25 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
Cool in pan on rack.
Cut in 36 bars.
