Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake


1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup (8 ounces) sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda

Topping:
1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs, sour cream and vanilla; mix well.
Combine the flour, baking powder and soda; add to the creamed mixture (batter will be thick).
Spread half of the batter into a greased 13x9x2" baking pan.
Combine chocolate chips, sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle half over batter.
Repeat layers.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
